Pop Tarts

Pop Tarts are not something I eat. However, they pushed their way onto my radar recently because of the introduction of 2 new flavors, and the wonderfully safe way they are handling them...

The new flavors are Peanut Butter and Chocolate Peanut Butter. At first I was horrified, one more product made unsafe through potential cross contamination. But, that's when they surprised me.

First, the peanut flavors will be packaged in gold foil, rather than the standard silver that wraps their other flavors. Second, they saw the potential danger and have been manufacturing the new flavors in a separate dedicated facility so the non-nut flavors can remain safe!

The official Statement from Kellogg's: We are so glad you took the time to connect with us. Your interest in Kellogg's® Pop-Tarts® is appreciated and we are happy to share more information about Pop-Tarts Gone Nutty!™ Peanut Butter toaster pastries with you.

We understand and share the concerns expressed by consumers who are affected by food allergies. We take great care to declare the presence of any common allergenic ingredients known to cause serious adverse reactions. There is no need to worry about any type of nut allergy in the non-peanut flavors of Pop-Tarts. The peanut butter Pop-Tarts are made in an entirely different facility from our current flavors."
