So Delicious

I have been feeding my dairy allergic husband So Delicious coconut milk, coconut ice cream, and soy ice cream for several months now. He likes them a lot. 

They do produce almond products as well, so I did some research before trying their products myself. I was very impressed with their allergen statement and wish to share it below. So Delicious products have since become regular items on our shopping list. 

Their products really are wonderful. The coconut milk is better than soy and a happy alternative to all of the nut milks that seem to be taking over the dairy free shelves. The ice creams are actually so close to dairy in texture and taste that I might not know the difference if I hadn't scooped them myself.

All of our frozen dessert pints and sandwiches as well as our Greek style cultured coconut milks are made at our own facility here in Oregon, so they are made on lines that are always dairy free. We do have peanuts and almonds in several of our dairy free frozen dessert flavors. Our beverages are made at a separate facility than our frozen desserts and cultured milks. 

With that said, our team takes the cleanliness of the production facility, prevention from cross contamination, and validation of the allergen-free status of our products extremely seriously. Many of our customers have food sensitivities and food allergies, and they have come to rely upon us for more than two decades to provide safe and delicious food options for their families. Our program is unique because we have documented and regimented procedures that are instituted at every facility where we produce So Delicious. They involve some of the most rigorous testing in the world and are conducted at various stages of our production – from testing the raw materials and ingredients to the manufacturing lines to the final product. We ensure that the product that is shipped into stores is safe and of the highest quality. 

We believe that we are doing an outstanding job at ensuring safe and delicious products, but we wanted to get additional input from outside teams. So, several years ago, we invited FAAN, the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network, to review our allergen and cross-contamination prevention program. They praised our program and today all of the facilities that we work with have instituted our strict regimen to ensure safe products. FAAN was so pleased with our work that we currently sample our products at more than 60 of their events each year!
